More about

into the lines

My name is Lisa Rouffaer. I graduated as a graphic designer but soon realised I missed working with my hands and exploring materials physically. Through experimenting with weaving, first with paper and later with cord, I discovered how simple materials can create depth and rhythm.

What began as an experiment grew into my woven frames: wooden base filled with expressive colour, texture, and lines. By combining different thicknesses and tones of paracord, each piece develops its own visual depth. No two frames are the same.

Alongside this work, I continue to embrace graphic design projects. If you have any questions or inquiries, feel free to get in touch!

Materials

selected with care

Into the Lines is a collection of handmade frames where wood and cord come together in rhythm. Each piece begins with a wooden base, where cords are woven by hand, layer by layer, creating a play of colour and depth.

The frames are woven with paracord. I’m aware that paracord is a synthetic material. I choose to work with it because it is exceptionally strong and colourfast, allowing each piece to last for many years while maintaining its quality.

Leftover materials are reused or recycled whenever possible. At the same time, I continue to explore alternative materials that offer the same strength and character, but in a more environmentally friendly way.
